Zones and vineyards

The gates of Chianti Classico

Coming from the north, you enter the Chianti Classico region via Greve in Chianti, San Casciano Val di Pesa, Tavarnelle Val di Pesa and Barberino Val d’Elsa.

Most of the Castelli del Grevepesa associate winegrowers are found in these areas and are the first to welcome those who want to experience the full beauty of the Chianti region.

On these hills and in these valleys, the skilled hands of the winegrowers have been caring for these age-old vineyards for hundreds of years, enriching the ancient art that continues to develop over time. Many years of experience have led to the identification of small areas and even individual vineyards in which grapes of unique qualities can be grown.

The most famous of these worldwide include:

  • Panzano, a medieval castle town established close to an Etruscan and later Roman settlement
  • Lamole, a village perched on the hills south east of Greve in Chianti
  • Campoli, in the centre of the parish of the same name, in the municipality of San Casciano Val di Pesa
  • Bibbione, with its castle that was owned until 1511 by Niccolò Machiavelli, who used it as his hunting residence

In addition to the places already mentioned, Castelli del Grevepesa also relies on grapes from San Gimignano and Maremma Toscana, from which our partners produce excellent quality Vernaccia, Morellino di Scansano and Vermentino.

Castelli del Grevepesa brings fine quality wines to the table of every Italian household.
